Environmentally Friendly Property Development

Green Home Limited wholeheartedly subscribes to the view that if we are to look to the long term future of our planet, we need to develop sustainable ways of building, rather than continuing to devour non-renewable resources.

Whilst it is true that national government has also recognised this need and introduced legislation to achieve these goals, Green Home Limited feel that we have a moral obligation to go beyond this basic minimum and provide proper care for our planet by responsibly using the resources available. This means that during the construction process, we seek to avoid the use of materials that can only be used once, such as plastics and hydrocarbon fuels. Rather, we believe in giving preference to renewable resources such as timber and other materials that have the ability to be recycled.

In addition, we feel that it is necessary that homes should, to the extent possible, minimise the amount of energy and other resources that they utilise through their lifetime and to that end we attempt, to the extent possible, to make use of renewable energy resources, to reduce water usage and to harvest waste products and rainwater for re-use within the building. It is true that many property developers are working towards these goals, often as a result of the need to comply with government legislation, however, we feel it is necessary to do as much as is technically and financially possible to go beyond the minimum levels required by the legislation.

We have constructed a number of environmentally friendly dwellings that include such things as solar-thermal, or solar-photovoltaic panels for water heating and electricity generation respectively, rain harvesting systems that reduce the amount of treated fresh water required by the home, super insulation and air tightness that reduces the amount of heat lost from the energy that is utilised, etc.

Since our homes are built in small quantities with personal attention to each, we have developed a track record of purchasers of our properties being highly satisfied, both with the standard and quality of the homes we build and with the level of after-sales service that is provided.
