Sustainable Design & Construction

Islington Borough Council is a leading London Council in the pursuit of improving the environmental credentials of Local Authorities.

In particular, their Public Realm Division, responsible for open spaces and other areas of interface with the public within their area, has a policy of improving the built environment by increasing the amount of greenery and open space available within the urban environment under the slogan "Greening the Grey". We are proud to be associated with this initiative, as this coincides entirely with our philosophy of improving the environment for all, particularly in the heavily over-developed Central London areas.

Whilst it is acknowledged that there are limits to what can be achieved in reversing centuries of over-development and reducing the density of the built environment, we are pleased to be involved in any effort that makes some improvement.

We have been involved in an initiative to convert underused sites into urban gardens and allotments for the benefit of the local community.
